| American Snowbell is an uncommon shrub of the Coastal Plain of North Carolina, very rare in the Piedmont. The leaves may be entire or may have a few shallow teeth. They are much smaller and narrower than those of Bigleaf Snowbell (Styrax grandifolius). Hoke Co., NC 9/12/04.
