Nandina is a multiple-stemmed medium-sized shrub with very large ternately compound evergreen leaves.

Native to Japan, China, and India, this popular ornamental frequently escapes in the understory of suburban woods. Sometimes called Heavenly-Bamboo or Sacred-Bamboo, though not related to or similar to bamboo.
