Dangleberry is a low huckleberry common in the Coastal Plain and occasional in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Young stems are glabrous (smooth) and may be glaucous (whitened).

The berries are blue when ripe. An alternate common name is Blue Huckleberry.

The underside of the leaf is usually glaucous and is covered with tiny golden resin glands, which may be difficult to see without magnification.
