Little Grass Frog (Pseudacris ocularis)

Little Grass Frog (Pseudacris ocularis)

The smallest frog in the U.S., this distinctive but variable tiny frog of the Coastal Plain may have a bold black stripe from the snout through the eye and along the side of the body. Other Pseudacris species, such as the Upland Chorus Frog (Pseudacris feriarum) may also have a similar stripe.

A lightly marked Little Grass Frog could be confused with a lightly marked Southern Cricket Frog (Acris gryllus).
