Azure Sage (Salvia azurea Michaux ex Lamarck var. azurea)
Azure Sage is quite rare in North Carolina, where it has been found in four counties in the southern Coastal Plain, primarily in the Sandhills region. The stems grow to 3-4 feet, but because of its lax habit (stems often lying on the ground), it can be relatively inconspicuous. Scotland Co., NC 10/4/2009. | |
