Lesser Celandine (Ficaria verna)

This is an up-and-coming invasive plant in North Carolina, capable of taking over bottomland forests and lawns near suburban areas. Several subspecies have escaped from cultivation. The only one that so far has been reported for NC is ssp. ficariiformis (F.W. Schultz) B. Walln.
