Twelve-spotted Skimmer (Libellula pulchella)
| Found throughout North Carolina, this uncommon skimmer is as beautiful as the name pulchella implies. They do indeed have twelve black spots; the males also have white spots between the black spots. Male, Clay Co., NC 5/19/07. |
