Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler (Setophaga [coronata] coronata)

Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler (Setophaga [coronata] coronata)

Found throughout North Carolina, but most abundant along the coast in winter, the eastern Myrtle Warbler is currently lumped with the western Audubon's Warbler as "Yellow-rumped Warbler". The Myrtle Warbler is appropriately named for its favorite tree, which provides it shelter and food in the winter, the Wax-myrtle (Morella cerifera).
